Advanced PENELOPE Options: penVT is designed to provide a simple, straight-forward way to simulate a series of tomosynthesis projections. However, PENELOPE offers a wide variety of parameters for each projection that aren't represented in the penVT GUI. These options can still be changed if so needed. penVT works by duplicating a template file for each projection and replacing different variable flags in the template files. If you need to change an option not included in the penVT GUI, you can change it in the template file. However, this should be done with great care. If the PENELOPE input file is in the wrong format, errors can occur. The template files are located in the built/ directory and are named PEN_TEMPLATE.* Sessions: If you plan on using a particular geometry in multiple simulations, you can save the status of your penVT session by selecting File -> Save Sesion... from the top menubar. The next time that you want to run a simulation, choose Load Session... from the File menu to load your session. The value of all variables in the GUI are stored in the session file EXCEPT FOR the energy spectrum. Make sure to re-enter or reload the appropriate energy spectrum. Display Models Dropdown: Currently, penEasy has three options for the display model to use when generating an image: standard x-ray, optical photon count, and ideal ray tracing. However, more models are likely to be added. penVT can still incorporate the additional models. The file /built/display_models.config contains the current display models. If more are added, edit this file to reflect the changes. | ||
